It seems strange for many that this advanced examination was done at the school, but it is not.

Many big schools have a great medical apartment, typically consisting of a rooms for undressing, for bath and preparation, for external examination, for surgery-like examinations under anesthesia, for workload testing, a room for recovering and even a small intensive care unit. These department alway has a doctor and some nurses. The most advanced examinations are often don by doctors visiting.

These departments seldome perform surgery, except minor ones, but they perform all types of advanced examinations, of which pelvic exams as described here seem to be most frequent.

The intensive care unit is mostly used for long time monitorintg of the body functions of the kids, not for recoverment after surgery.
