Guten tag Knut,

Maybe at a large private boarding school, but I would be surprised if a public school had that advanced medical facilities. I've heard that many public schools don't even have a licensed/trained nurse, for basic exams on unwell children or keeping control of restricted prescription medication. It is possible the children or parents don't know the background or qualifications of the school nurse.

Is there a different definition of "Intensive Care" than what one finds in a hospital?

The only time I've really heard of advanced or full medical facilities at schools for children is when it's located next to a research or medical facility of some type.
