It is interesting that you mention injections and testerone reducing drugs given to boys with autism and also to boys with overactive and aggressive behavior in the past and maybe even today in secret since they were official in the past.
Maybe even chemical or physical castration in some cases, as you or someone else mentioned. This was especially so in institutions where it was difficult to control such boys which at least made them behave in an acceptable way when they left these institutions with the loss of aggressiveness.

I also once read that it was official government policy in the USA to have boys with hereditary mental problems to be sterilized so that if they marry or have sexual relations with women when they became adults they could not make them pregnant and produce children with the same mental defects.
Sterilization is a simple medical operation which cuts the sperm tubes and is less drastic than castration since it still allows normal sexual performance but without fertilization being possible.
This was in fact encouraged by the government in India for many years to reduce and control their overpopulation which was a main cause of poverty. I don't know if this program is still going on in India or other poor overpopulated countries. The government offered a small sum of money to those who undertook this simple operation which was encouraging to these poor people and probably millions took it.
