Well Eric, for the EKG class they are going to first review all you are going to need to know about EKG. It's a three day class. The first two days you are going to learn about normal and abnormal sinus, atrial and ventricular rhythm. I found the AV blocks to be difficult. The instructor for the EKG class is going to give u handouts. The instructor is going to first review the anatomy of the heart and then he/she is going to discuss the p wave, QRS complex, and t wave and how they should look on the EKG strip. On the last day of class, the instructor is going to give you guys a complete review and three practice exams. After the last practice exam u are then going to get tested. For the test , all u have to do is write down the interpretation of the rhythm. An example of an interpretation of the rhythm is sinus tachycardia. If you need any help let me know. You are also going to be watching some videos on EKG. Make sure you study normal sinus rhythm, sinus bradycardia, sinus tachycardia, sinus block, sinus arrest, PAC, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, junctional rhythms ,ventricular tachycardia, Ventricular fibrillation, asystole, and the Blocks. Don't worry, the class is really good, you will learn a lot even with zero experience in EKG. By the way, what unit are you on?
