Author: Venues booked years in advance
Subject: They have already tried, most venues that can hold the amount of people at a world championships are booked out as it’s Easter week.
In reply to: Plenty of other venues in Ireland 's message, "Find a new venue. Why organise a venue you can't afford." on 22/04/24 8:22:22, Mon

The CLRG world championships is twice the size of an chomdhail so it can’t be compared to theirs.

These venues are booked 4-5 years in advance and realistically Dublin should’ve never been booked. There are no venues that can host this many dancers in such short notice on Easter week - it’s a holiday week in Ireland. It’s not that easy to just “find another venue”

Then if you do find another venue you also loose a huge deposit which has been paid.

  • Lots of large venues such as CityWest are being used for refugees now. Not a lot of choice. They could look at using multiple venues as done for the AI in Killarney a few years ago (NT) -- TM, 28/04/24 8:59:02, Sun
