My daughter competed in this pageant. I, unlike the mothers you are referring to in the previous statement, did read the paperwork. It states the contest will be judged on the following; facial beauty, poise/personality, overall appeal. To me this means not only will the contest be judged on facial beauty but also on how they present themselves on stage in which modeling would fall into play. Also, overall appeal means how the contestant portrays her "total self". Meaning not only is she beautiful, but does she have confidence, is she comfortable in her attire, and does she have a sense of knowing what to do while onstage. My DD had extremely high scores, and according to the comments from the judges there wasn't anything more she could have improved, after all her scores were almost perfect...yet she pulled no title! So excuse me for being a little confused and wanting to get others' opinions on the matter. And just so you know, I haven't bashed anyone; not judges, not directors, not other contestants. I'm simply asking how this is possible...and people like the author of the previous statement continue to blow it out of proportion.
