It was a well placed nip to Fury’s lower lip that Lezedi knew would hurt enough to shut her up. Telling him what to do was never going to work and she should just face the facts now.

The shadows grew heavy around them. Sooner or later they’d be choked out by the multiplication of beasts that were teaming there. Lezedi was able to slide out from under the dog and pull Fury roughly to her feet. “Lucian. I grow bored.” His eyes turned to his brother and his play thing. She was beautiful and he could see why Lucian had mentioned her before. He had warned Lezedi of her skills. Lezedi knew the smile that struck Lucian’s lips was due to something else. His fist clutched tighter around Fury’s small wrist as he pulled her closer to the other sibling set. His free hand found the chin of Tarot and angled it towards the light. She was beautiful as most fae were. But she was independent and self sufficient: two traits women shouldn’t have. He let go of her face before he could be bitten. In the back of his mind, Lezedi was alert to the shift of magic. But her spell hadn’t seemed to have accomplished anything. Whatever floats your boat, Lucian. “Lets go to VU. My little bird needs water and rest.” By water, of course, Lezedi meant trying to drown her…but you know. You say tomato I say tomahto.
