First thing, your words "can be abused", suggests you have very little trust in the honesty and integrity of the other coaches. We are not playing for sheep stations, but of course the rules must be in place.

Rules govern the whole comp. If you break rules, who is going to catch you out? The Mods, glancing over 14 sides a weekend, may pick up a discrepancy, but I think the biggest watchdog of a rule put in place is the very teams coach that plays a side each weekend.

I have broken Balance rules. I know I have. I have put a Mid Def too deep in defence, as in the juggle around when I had a few of my D2's out, I made a mistake. I have thought a couple of time, AH NO, I was not even suppose to have him there. No Mod picked it up. No opposition coach did either. I didn't, it was an honest mistake.

To open the Balance sheet up to coaches, does not open the lid on a treasure chest in front of a room full of thieves. You're open the page up to players who want to do the right thing. If the rule is there, what type of coach of this game, goes about swapping things around for their own benefit.

Opposition coaches can complain to Mods if need be, saying that a player is being played out of position. I as opposition coach knows this, because the correct parameters have been put into the rules, to say FOR EXAMPLE, the past three games Heatmap, has Laverde 86% Defensive, and he is playing in the Forward Pocket.

Ian can over look the Balance Page, sure, cast an eye over the balance sheet like Mods are currently casting an eye over weekly sides. If anything is a miss, then he brings it up with a coach. But the coach can rectify it.

And the penalty system. It is flawed because it is one size fits all. 50 points, bang. It could be an oversight, or it could be lack of team options through not drafting properly. Having one singular Ruckman in your whole side. OR, It could be injuries have crippled the team. It could be and I will use Laverde as an example again, he has JUST went to 57% Defensive in Heatmaps. Go back one more week, and he is 52% Defensive, eligible for Forward.

Another key word you used "unrealistic positioning". Is that not what I am fighting against. Having the Balance locked for months when AFL play a player in a different role.

In my ideal, a player like Daniher, or Dixon, who there was discussion about, "IN THE WINDOW" may not have been eligible in that very moment, but two week later, different story. Locking it to mischievous Coaches who are desperate to cheating the rules, I am not sure we are dealing with that.

Regarding being FLATOUT. What about the people who are FLATOUT in Summer. More likely than a freezing cold winter would it not? But even if he is, whats to say work is not going to be flatout in Summer as well.

My situation is, lockdown for Melbourne at the moment, so I am currently on 16 measly hours. After our SL Grand Final, I could be doing 50 hours. Slade gets HEAPS of shifts at an outdoor poor as a lifeguard in the summer. As he said, his availability is non existent after the season. So whos FLAT OUT is more important?

And the equivilent that these YES voters are doing to my right to bring things up, and ask a VOTE to be done, is me saying, We can only Vote IN the season, because I am FLATOUT out of it. At least my proposal is that we be able to do it anytime. Not JUST when it suites me more.

And I just don't get this fear that we are so FLAT OUT with our sides each week. Seriously, we spend all of 1 max 2 hours a week to run our sides during the season. I'd argue I spend more time watching Highlight reels and considering Draft players in the offseason, and I don't even trade often. If I was more active with Trade, Offseason is HEAPS more time consuming. So it all just doesn't make sense to me.

BIG rules changes can be Postponed by Mods at ANY TIME. Simply, for example, I do something crazy, and put up big heading that I want Salary Cap to come in, and I want it Voted on for its immediate implementation. Mods speak amongst themselves and make a decision on two things. One is the discussion to the proposal too big to deal with in a small amount of time, and considered "Distracting" to the weekly running of the side, they can propose the Vote. OR, they can say, whatever the result of the Vote, Implementation of that rule can not happen until Offseason.

I suggest we deal with the actual Vote at hand, and not the spinoff issues this makes.

I can see why one decision can be feared, because I feel one decision to bring in Balance Rules, has spun off to other rules being implemented WITHOUT vote. The easy going flexible rule bought in at the start, is NOT where we are now.

Worst thing it is causing, is making coaches feel that they are NOT in charge of the Positions of their OWN players. And if it is understood clearly by the coach where a player SHOULD be in the Balance sheet, we have Mods, guarding it like Money in an Armguard Van. It doesn't distill trust in me.

The requests, and the almighty words of Declined or Accepted is an eyesore to the Voy page. It suggests a system is not set in place that makes this more black and white. We need to trust in the opinions of Mods. Too bad what we know as coaches.

And as you know John, some coaches are not happy with that way of leading this comp. It is Autocratic, not democratic. And it leads to disharmony not enthusiasm.

For me, if I am locked out of seeing something a miss, and getting it fixed, or being Locked out from Balance Sheets and forbidden for months to change it. Or even being locked out of Weekly sides, when sides change between Thursdsay and Sunday, and not being able to just put other players into the 22, in order of Emergency, is restrictive and annoying. Putting a score of the 23rd player into the position of the player that goes out to get scores, feels like I am not capable of being trusted.

Who are the coaches that would get onto a page, and purposely do the wrong thing. Maybe that is who we should get rid of, not put locks on the door like we are naughty children.

It is not the game I want to play. And if it is like that, I will promise I will not be here next year.

I feel I am not welcomed anyway but some. Mods dislike dealing with an overactive mind like mine. And analytical LOOOONNNGGGGG assessment of there position and my discomfort of that position the way it is going. What is not to hate. I get it. As Aaron just said, it comes across as "Poor Form" to him. Rules bought in without Vote, distrusting coaches with locks on pages, and Balance Rules is Poor Form to me. But we all see things differently don't we.

And most wont read and understand my words above. Most don't have the time. What this league needs is another vague coach that doesn't look too deeply into things.

You can get that next year. I have promised to finish the season for old mate Chris. I have more respect for his words than most on here. And I have gave my word. But fix things, dont fix things, I do this because I enjoy it. I DON'T enjoy being treated like a child, and not trusted to run my side. So no brainer.
