I disagree, dancers are posted in feis results by teachers all the time. But after Ulsters if there is no medal, trophy or sash they are not posted. A good, decent teacher with morals is proud of ALL of the dancers in their school rather than just those with medals. It doesn’t reflect negatively on the dancer but it speaks volumes about the integrity of the teacher. If your teacher is one of these get out, go somewhere that your child’s hard work, months of preparation and achievements are valued by their teacher. Getting up on stage at a major is an achievement in itself, maybe they had a bad day, maybe they just didn’t recall but no matter what our teachers celebrate every dancer who takes to the Ulster stage. It’s easy to spot the teachers favourites in numerous schools today, some dancers left out of posts about Ulsters and some have a full album of photos attached. These are children with feelings, valid feelings, any decent teacher would not stoop to this type of behaviour. Children’s mental health should be at the forefront of teachers minds, they should be leading by example.
