I consistently remove the spring steel stays in most of my girdles and all of my longline bra's. It is really uncomfortable having the long line bra stay poking your under arm. I do find that SOME girdle stays really boost the comfort level but I am not one for removing all of them. I don't know how one could enjoy a girdle with ALL of the stays removed. I do recommend keeping some of them in place until you figure your comfort level.
