Walking, in a girdle, was one of several concerns that manufacturers tried hard to address. I don't know about long-leg panty girdles because I never came across anyone who wore one. They look as though they might hinder walking but maybe not. I never heard any adverse comments about walking in a brief panty girdle. I remember one manufacturer's adverts in the 1970s/80s stressed that this was a girdle "your legs can't feel" and others using phrases such as "walking freedom".

Perhaps this was a hangover from the 50s and 60s when girdles were "open" girdles (OBGs) and they were certainly responsible for some degree of walking difficulty.

I can, if anyone is interested, recount a couple of (true) stories about this problem. I would be interested to hear whether panty girdles could also affect walking.
