During the 60's and 70's girdles were plastered all over radio, TV and major catalogs [e.g. Brought to you by Playtex] I think it was not so much as arousal but rather comfort. Of course there was always arousal as the boys got older but it did not change a lot, they just wore under their regular clothes. The girls actually gave them advice and told them if they were getting chubby that they needed a high waist girdle and to watch what they ate. I did not openly wear but they all knew what size girdles were mine.
It was a much rewarding time back then and even today with kids, grand kids and yes, one great grand kid. As for me, I normally wear a Rago 9071 because as your get old and start to develop man boobs you quickly find out why women where bra's. My wife always compliments me on keeping a trim waistline.
