Yes, I agree that a girdle can help with weight loss. It will take some determination, as it will take full time wearing. Not just every now and then. It will need to be either high waist or all in one, or best probably a corset. Regular rise to the waist will not help much as the stomach is above the waist. A firm control longline bra might help. As a girl she is lucky that everybody thinks it is perfectly normal female attire, and doesn't have to worry about wearing it. (As a guy I always make sure nothing shows. Maybe nobody would actually say anything if a shoulder strap showed or whatever but I wouldn't be comfortable about it. Very unfair!)

Unfortunately I weigh more than I should and try to loose weight. 10 years ago or so my wife and I were going to an annual event which starts with a banquet the first night. Having been there before I knew it would be extremely good food. Put me in front of an excellent all you can eat buffet, and I will have more than I should. Having at that time lost some, I didn't want to ruin it all. I decided to put on some pretty tight girdles and shapewear to prevent me from pigging out. My wife thought that was an excellent idea. I had a delightful about a week before leaving trying on different combinations to make sure I could wear it all day. It was a bit of a drive and from leaving in mid morning to bedtime I would not be able to change. So I was well dressed for the drive. (I don't have any really strong ones so I have to layer up.)

I have noticed that different items do not always go well with others and are less comfortable. I did get good combination that was both pretty tight and comfortable. It worked well. For the banquet I really couldn't eat any desert, not for lack of wanting to. Overall it was comfortable enough that I left most of it on overnight.
