 I 1as also diagnosed years ago with rheumatic fever and ended with scaredmitral vvalve. I started the long acting penicillin injections at the age of 11 every 2 weeks in winter time and 4 in summer. The 4 CC visit white medication has to be given with thick needle and many times it gets blocked or get blood when they pull through syringe plunger and they have to reinject in another spot on the same cheek or the other side. I tried everything thing from hotbeds to cold compresses, It is very painful when injected, and for hours after and sore for few days later. They often leave a sore lump for days and scared skin from through repeated injections. I don t know how much more I have to endure this I am now 23
