Subject: Is it true that shots in small buttocks hurt more?

I hope it doesn't sound too silly but is it really true? I ask because I saw some people here wrote things like this. I've never had a single injection in butt so I was never interested in the subject. But recently I've had a problem with a throat infection and the doctor said that if the pills finally do not suffice, he would have to prescribe antibiotic shots. No less than 20 and he described them as considerably painful. I'm a little bit scared. I started to read stuff on the internet and I see here that shots in small butts hurt more and I do have small butts because I weight ca 56-57kg while being 170cm tall.

Dosage is often calculated according to body weight so small buttocks should not suffer more than normal pain. I know from experience because my buttocks are lean and muscular. Feel free to email me if I can be of further help.

The reality behind shots in small buttocks is somewhat more complicated. Dosage often comes in a few fixed values and I think that around 60kg of weight is quite usual for an adult woman. So have no idea if the actual quantity of the medicine would be in this case reduced or not. I depends. But from my experience, the real problem of small buttocks injections is not how much medicine goes, but how many and how often are the shots done. When you have big butts there is a lot of place to choose. But when you have small ones, you quickly end up with being injected at the same spots as previously. And this very fact can bring to you a lot of additional pain. I know this because long time ago, once I was teenager, weighted about 50 or so kg and was really skinny, it happened to me to get a few times series of 20-30 everyday antibiotic shots. The first shots were generally painful, but not a very big problem. But when they started to inject me at the same places as before, shots gradually became unbearable. After ten or so the people who injected me usually stated quite clearly that "there's no place to inject". So they injected in what they had available, that is in already sore and extremely sensitive location :(

Isn't 20-30 shots a bit overdoing it?

No matter how much injections in small buttocks hurt, it is always the least painful place to get them.

Maybe. I've always been a very slim person and I've got a lot of shots in my small and flat buttocks :( People may feel it in their own ways but what I can say is that if the first shots in series are simply painful, than the longer they would go the more nightmare they would become :( Nurses have very little choice where to stab so they stab where they did before :(:(:(:(

Do shots in your poor little buttocks ever leave you unable to sit down, Nadia? If so, for how long?

Of course they do. After two or three or even more weeks of everyday shots even walking is hard not to mention sitting :( For many days :( But I can't just stop walking and sitting so I have to survive it somehow.

Do you ever have to be held down when getting shots in your already injection-sore bottom?

Nobody has to hold me down, after all I'm adult and I know I have to get these shots whatever the discomfort they cause.

Brave girl! I presume your small buttocks mean that you lie prone for your shots but I usually bend over for mine.

The one disadvantage to lying prone for injections is that enables one to clench buttocks and thereby make the initial jab hurt more. How do you feel when lying flat for a shot in your already injection-sore bare bottom? Are you able to relax your muscle to minimise the pain or are you too scared?

The initial stab is not a problem itself. If the place is not sore yet, I scarcely feel anything. If it is already sore, it's fairy painful but by far less than what comes next. It is pushing the medicine that does the real pain. I know I should relax but it's impossible. At least not after the moment when I start to feel the burning and pain. So I'm usually "glued" to the bench clenching it and trying somehow not to burst in tears like a little girl.

I agree that the initial stab can be the least painful part of an injection, Nadia - except when the buttock is already sore from previous shots. It is the serum being injected that really hurts and, even if it doesn't, the site can become very sore a few hours later. When all my travel inoculations expire at the same time I get eight shots (four in each cheek) and often can't sit down for a day or two afterwards.

It sounds as though you get many shots in your poor little bottom. How many, how frequently and what are they?

Mainly antibiotics of various sorts. In general, it comes every 2 or 3, sometimes 4 years. Usually nothing important happens in between, but when it finally does, it can be 20, 30 or even more everyday injections. It also happened to me to get 2 or 3 injections per day what was a pure nightmare, but fortunately it was an exception.

I used to get several antibiotic injections every year for various ailments but the most I ever had was one daily for nine days, the final few of which were agony because my bottom was already so sore. When all my travel inoculations expire at once I get eight shots (four in each cheek) which, whilst not very painful to get, can leave me unable to sit down later.

You say most of your buttock injections have been antibiotics but have you had other shots in the bottom as well?

So now try to imagine how would it be not to stop at the ninth one, but to continue through a few dozens, when each of your butt cheeks is injected in more or less the same place every two days :( Or even better, it is injected in more or less the same place everyday, because it has just happened to you to get not 1 but 2 shots a day :(:(:( The best of the best was quite a long time ago when I was a teenager, at a hospital I got some antibiotics IV, but later also IM 3 times a day for 10 days or so. I could barely walk and almost did not sleep because my bottom hurt even when I rested flat on my belly.

A got a few injections in my bottom other than antibiotics, but those were incidental shots of little importance.

Turn on? Maybe it depends on what you exactly mean, but it's rather not the case. It's simply far too painful, not fun at all.

Your terms "even better" and "best of best" in your previous message misled me to think shots in the bottom turned you on. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I emphasise with your posterior pain because my shots have often left me unable to sit down, albeit never difficult to walk.

How fearful are you when you know you have to get buttock injections? In my youth I was terrified more of the embarrassment than the pain but I now feel just nervous apprehension.

Well, it was "the best" in terms of how much pain and discomfort it caused. So utterly "the worst" in terms of how I felt it.

Actually I am not fearful. I was a long time ago, but now I know so well what to expect, that there is little room for fear. What does not mean, that I do not feel a sort of mental unrest. I do a lot, particularly that the circumstances are often more or less embarrassing or even sort humiliating.

What circumstances do you find particularly humiliating? Having someone watch you injected in the bare bottom and, if so, who? What about afterwards? Does it embarrass you for others to know you got shots back there - e.g. if they notice you can't sit down comfortably after going to the doctor? I no longer mind buttock injections or the embarrassment but I used to dread the humiliation of a receptionist watching me get them.

The whole situation looks as it looks. I lie there "knocked down" for a longer while, some of the rather intimate parts of myself exposed, fighting not to cry, yet with humid eyes. Maybe somebody wouldn't care, but I don't feel comfortable. And as I have more or less problems with sitting or even walking it is impossible to entirely conceal what happened to my bottom, what I do not find comfortable as well.

Yes, Nadia, a sore bottom after going to the doctor can mean only one thing and I find it embarrassing too. I once returned from the doctor when my then wife was entertaining a friend of hers. When my wife asked if I got a shot and I said I said I had, the girl eagerly asked where. I often have to wait with the receptionist or in the waiting room for a ritual five minutes after an injection (lest I suffer a reaction to the serum) and difficulty sitting down in the presence of others is very embarrassing. Do you have to wait standing up after your shots too?

Although I no longer mind buttock injections, like you I certainly don't feel comfortable when bending over with trousers and pants down awaiting the inevitable. Unlike you, however, actually getting them never made me want to cry although at age about 14 I did once burst into tears at the prospect of getting one when my doctor's beautiful teenaged daughter was acting receptionist during the school holidays.

Do you always get your shots in the bottom and do you usually know in advance when going to the doctor that you will get one or does it come as an unwelcome surprise? I now take all my injections back there even when there is a choice.

As probably anyone else I got some shots in other locations than buttocks, usually vaccinations or stuff like that, but it wasn't a problem.

My buttock injections were never a great surprise. Now they're not a surprise at all as I know in what conditions I can expect them. What once was a surprise, was the amount of suffering they can cause to me. Even some medical staff I meet on my way seems to be somewhat embarrassed when they realize that they stab n-times almost exactly the same location on my body so that it must really make a lot of suffering. And as one can guess, doctors who write prescriptions do not inspect my bottom at all, so they probably have no idea what are the consequences for me. But I do not feel bold enough to tell them: "listen, you know, I've got the smallest ass you've ever seen, so maybe you don't prescribe this something" :/:/:/

I'm trying to make various movements and assume various positions to mitigate the pain and burn, but it helps very little. At the beginning I just need to stick to the bench for a longer moment and wait. But still getting up and putting my clothes back on is a big challenge implicating a lot of awkwardness.

Thanks for the insight, Nadia. You are clearly very brave when you have to get shots in your little bare bottom. Although I don't suffer as much as you, I also sometimes grip the edge of the exam table for mine.

The most reliable way to minimise pain is to relax the muscle but that is easier said than done. Can you manage to relax your buttocks for injections?

Unlike you, almost all my injections have been in the bottom. I got even booster shots there and I now insist on all shots back there. No matter how much they hurt, I know they would be more painful in the arm.

Why is putting on your clothes afterwards a challenge? Is it just pulling up panties over a sore bottom or more to it than that?

We haven't discussed privacy. Are you normally isolated with the nurse for your shots? I usually am but sometimes the receptionist finds an excuse to come in when I am bending over with trousers and pants down. I once got an injection in the nurse's cubicle just screened off from the waiting room so everybody outside knew where I got it because they could hear her tell me to drop trousers, pull down pants and bend over - very embarrassing.

Does getting shots in your bottom ever embarrass you; either when getting them or afterwards if people know why you can't sit down?

Putting on clothes is the same sort of challenge as any other movement affecting my body below the belt line. It not only involves buttock muscles, but the pain often tends to radiate up and down. When I am desperate enough I put on some sort of skirt or something like this, which I do not have to unbutton and move myself to put in on and off, but merely roll up and down, even though normally I do never wear skirts. But thanks to this I do not have to fiddle with my clothes in the worst moments.

The privacy during the shot itself is rarely violated. Although at hospital, when I was not the only person in the room, more embarrassing situations occurred. Otherwise it is rare that undesirable persons can observe me.

I don't like when others realize that I get shots, but it is not always possible to conceal. Immediately after the shot it is virtually impossible to hide, as my walking and sitting are evidently affected. If one looks closer, tears in my eyes are usually to be seen too.

Wearing a skirt for your shots seems a good idea but, as a man, I haven't got that option, so I know exactly what you mean about pulling trousers up over an injection-sore bottom.

When in hospital you were understandably embarrassed for others to see you get buttock injections but presumably you also saw them get shots back there. How did that make you feel?

I agree that it can be difficult to hide having been injected in the bottom. Even though I don't shed tears, difficulty sitting down upon leaving the doctor leaves little to the imagination. You say that you don't like others realising that you have shots, but is it the shots themselves that embarrass you or just where you get them? In my youth my friends all regarded getting shots in the arm to be a rite of passage, so getting them in my bottom always made me feel childish. I always feared the embarrassment even more than the pain.

While at hospital, I had a handful of occasions to see people nearby get some shots, but without much detail. Frankly speaking I was little interested. But what I found remarkable was that only I suffered so much. Really bad luck.

I just don't like if people other than medical staff look at me when I get injections in my bare bottom. Or when people realize that something is "not right" with me when I have problems with walking, etc. The latter results also in "stupid questions" I don't like to answer. Fortunately, it is rare that any third persons can see me when getting shots. I look and feel really bad then. And after all, my intimate body parts are less or more exposed, so I'm not interested in expanding the number of spectators.

I weigh around 55kg I was diagnosed with an inflammation in the pelvis and had the choice of either being admitted to hospital for IV antibiotics or get intraocular injections in my butts twice a day. My aunt is a nurse and I opted the home treatment. On the same day I started these large cefalosporin shots twice a day one each side. The jab is painful but the real pain is the burning and contraction with the liquid being pushed. Then the soreness after. To make things worse, my aunt suggested to the doctor that I should receive a vitamin injection too . A third needle every other day. Three days into the treatment and I could not really sit from my sore butt that were full of small lumps. Ihad to endure this for 7 days!

Okay here's the deal. Shots in the butt DO hurt more because

1. It takes a longer thicker needle to reach the muscle
2. It's usually used for medicine that is either a mixture
or just plain thick.
3. Usually larger amounts of medicine are injected in the
butt as opposed to the arm.

I do not agree that Tetanus shots hurt more in the arm. I had a few Tetanus shots in the arm and didn't feel a thing. While it takes a longer needle to reach the muscle in the butt, the solution is the same.

Cheers.
Tim

I always take my B12 in my butt; usually my wife gives it dorsogluteal, if she's busy I do myself ventrogluteal. We use a 25 gauge 1 1/2 inch needle for a 2cc dose and it NEVER hurts at all. Been doing this the past 40 years.

My wife happens to get butt shots which are considered as generally painful. She is slim and do have untypically small buttocks. I can confirm that those shots repeated in a series in the same location quickly get unbearably painful. Much more than usually expected and very little can be done to prevent this side effect.

A year ago I had a kidney infection and started oral antibiotics but a week later I was still in pain and had developed high fever. The results of the urine culture showed a bug that could only be treated with antibiotic injections.
The doctor suggested to be admitted to hospital and get an IV or be treated at home with injections in the buttocks. The doctor prescribed one gram of cefotaxime every 12 hours and another one Garmincyn once. My aunt is a nurse and she said it would easier to give me th einjectios at home. I weigh only 110pounds. For knew week I was getting two injections in the morning one in each cheek and another one in evening. Pain was unbearable as the cefotaxime is Abigail injection and it burns like he'll and leaves the injection s ite sore and hard for few days. After 5 days my aunt would try to findable spot that is no hard or sore and by the end oftheweek I was?in tears

They do hurt like a fucking hell if they are not only generally painful, but also repeated in considerable numbers in a short time. I have a sort of "small buttocks", have received multiple times series of 20-30 shots and after a few days it's such a ravage for my buttocks that I'm every time in tears.

Years I had a large injection with a one inch needle in my small buttock. it was for come ailment which I don't recall. The nurse said "I don't usually give a shot this large in one shot" so she pulled the needle a little over a half way changed the direction then pushed it back in and continued the injection. I drove home and it was a little tender. I would rather had two injections.

Injections by slim people DO hurt significantly more because of two simple reasons. First, there is too little muscle volume to easily accept all the fluid. Second, if it's a longer series of shots, it's virtually impossible to avoid injecting at the same location multiple times. And actually the latter is the real problem. Even moderately painful shot repeated many times at the same location can cause an insane amount of pain and burning and make even adult people bursting in tears.

I am 110lb and had any urine tract infections with multiple courses of oral antibiotics but each time it would come again and the last time it was sinful with a raised temperatures . My doctor had the results of a urine culture and suggested that the best treatment would be an antibiotic injection in the buttock every 12 hours for 7 days. My friend who is a nurse asked the doctor if adding vitamin c would he clear it faster and he agreed and added on the prescription a 1 gmail of vitamin C by daily injection. Back hope I started to endure the pain of the morning injection and antibiotic and vitamin c ( it burns like hell) one in each cheek and a third injection at night. Four days into treatment I had large bruises and was very sore and each new injection was given close to on in the same spot. By the fifth day I was in tears and could hardly sit from the pain and bruises. When I revisited the doctor I wanting led him to see how bruised I was but did not dare. Do they really feel the pain and suffering we go through with a simple hand writing on their prescription or when they add a vitamin c that left me for weeks with endurations when it could have been a tablet.

I weigh 55kg and I had some visual flashing and my eye doctor ordered many tests including one in which they gave a dye by IV. He called me to his office and told me that the good news is that I do not need surgery or laser and that the problem can be fixed with medications. The bad news though was that the medications are taken by injections in the butts. One cerebrolysin 5ml daily injection 5 days per week and a vitamin b and c injection three times weekly. Eight injections in 5 days and two days break for 4 weeks. After two weeks I was so sore and bruised that I could hardly sit and my butts were mottled and full of lumps as they had to inject me again and again in the same very tender spots. When I revisited him he said that things were better but ideally I should continue for two injections of each per week for the next three months. I started crying and was in tears but he said that this the best thing for me. I am still enduring the pain and fall in tears when my cousin who gives me the injection knocks at the door!

I don't think. When I was a child, I was quite chubby and my butt was rather chubby, but despite this, butt shots were very painful. When I received a lot of injections, my butt was swollen and so looked like chubbier.

I weigh115lbs and following a gynecology procedure I started to have repeated urinarytract infections with 3 courses of oral antibiotics and then through culture showed a klebsiella infection sensitive only to few injectable antibiotcs. At first I was prescribed Invanz 1GM injection daily for10 days. The first injection was painful but still tolerable but with my nurse friend giving me the daily injections alternating through sides it was screaming from the pain and the lump and hardness of each injection site. I l called my doctor to see if there is another choice. I was told that my friend was using water for injection and not the provided local freezing! Three weeks later the infection was back and this time I had the only option of garamycin twice a day and an injection of vitamin c. It was a nightmare week of pain. I could hardly sit. Ten days later I was still sore with large bruises. Yes yes repeated injection in small buttocks is very painful!!

I work in a surgical unit and was caring for a 25year-old very then petite girl with a burst appendix and infection of her wound. Initially she was on IV antibiotics and would receive occasona pain medications by injection in three butts. After one week it was getting more and more difficult to find a vein and she did not want to have a line. The doctor suggested to switch to intramuscular aantibiotics and vitamins. In my morning shift she would get a large antibiotic injection in one butt cheek and a second vitamin in the other. The night shifters would give her the second antibiotic dose and a paikillers medication. Three days into treatment it was in tears and it was diffuse to find a spot to inject that was not swollen or sore. She was glued to the bed clenching her cheeks with every injection and had to do so for nearly a week!

I am 30 y and my eight is 52kg I was diagnosed years ago with an immune problem as I do not build antibodies to vaccines.I am used to injections as I am often prescribed antibiotics that are given in series for few days and recently twice weekly for vitamins for weeks. My last injection was two days prior to my recent ordeal!. I am used to this pain and soreness of the injection sites. I was working assisting in a nursing home and was exposed to a person with severe shingles with a lot of scaling. When I told my doctor he said I should get gammaglobulins. He calculated the dose and told me I should get 0.6ml then he smiled and said per kilogram! You will get 30ml divided in multiple injections. He sent me to the hospital and a resident came and told me that each injection would be 5ml given by deep intramuscular injections. I cried as I realized that I would get poked 6 times with these 1,5 inch long 20g needles. He warned me that they are painful and that I will be sore for few days. He filled the first two syringes from a vial he got from the fridge. He started by one Shot in each butt cheeks.5ml each. I was clenching my teeth and was cramping from the pain that was radiating to my whole legs down. I was glued to the bed in tears when he pulled out the second needle. He then went to the counter to fill the next two from another vial and said you will get the next two in each thigh. The pain was unbearable.I was told that I would rest for while before the next set. An hour later a nurse came to give me another two, I was surprised when she started to warm the vial before filling the syringes. She said that the pain and cramping are more with the cold medicine. She swabed with alcohol and jabed the first one in my left cheeks and pushed rapidly I could not bear the pain and started screamed begging her to go slower. The next one was not better as it was in a spot of another injection. She abruptly pulled the needle and told me that she hit a vein and replaced the needle before jabbing me again and pushing rapidly the burning medicine. I was shivering and twitching from pain and clinching my muscles. I was sweating and in full tears when she pulled needle out and was applying pressure with alcohol swab. I was lying on my stomach unable to turn back and in real tears. They kept me on observation for two hours and when it was time to get out of the bed I was limping and holding my buttocks and thighs from the pain. I had never received injections in my thighs before. For the next three days through injection sues were hard, lumpy and very sore and very painful. I learned later that through can be doubled on occasions. I received a lot of injections and endured a lot of pain from serial antibiotic injections but nothing compares to through pain of the large and numerous gammaglobulins given in small butts and thighs!

I am 32 and weigh 52 kg. For three last 7 years I get monthly B12 shots that cause some discomfort and occasional soreness for few hours. I went to see my doctor as I had a skin rash and and an ulcer and he referred me to an STD clinic. It seemed that I have contracted the infection from my ex boyfriend. I was told that I will need to get a long acting penicillin injection weekly for three weeks ad that I have to consent to that. Through nurse told me that the treatment will be divided into one shot in each side as it is large and painful. She brought two 4CC syringes with a white liquid with a thick long needle. She told me to avoid contracting my muscles as It would be very painful if I did. I felt through pain When she jabbed the needle but I was in tears and cried when she starting to push on the plunger, a real agony. Th second one was even worse and for the whole week I was limping with two firm sore lumps in my buttocks. Through second ans third weeks were worse with the soreness and pain becoming unbearable, I also had two lumpy bruises on one side and a third on the other . Sitting and sleeping on my back was very uncomfortable and I pretended that I hurt my back as I did not want anybody to know about through the STD. On the third week I was due for my B12 shot and when the nurse at my doctor s office was about to give It she could not avoid the sore spots and added to more misery. Know I even dread my B12 as I still feel the discomfort!

I am a male, ca. 60kg of weight and 180cm tall. Let's say - quite slim. In a period of ca. 25 years I got quite a big number of butt shots, for various reasons. Antibiotics, vitamins, steroids and occasionally some other stuff. Many of them really painful even if one gets only a single one. But in most cases I got them is series. I can confirm that such injections repeated in the same spot can deliver a hell of suffering. I wouldn't probably be able to imagine how much suffering, unless I got through it myself. It's crazy - some of them aren't really big, simply 2 or 3 cc, but ultimately turn out to be insanely painful.

I am in my late 20s and work as a lab tech. I was always up-to-date with my vaccinations. I got a very good job at a water recycling plant in a Caribbean island and had to visit the occupation health office to check my vaccination status and was recalled after the results of the blood work and they told me that I have do not build antibodies to hepatitisand that I order to continue working I should get monthly18% gammaglobulins. I started to get these monthly injections in the clinic of the administrative building when I go to get my monthly cheque. The nurse became a good friend and she would ask me to lay on through couch and prepare two syringes each with 2.5CC of gammaglobulins jabbed in each side. Every three months she wold give me third injection of depot provera. I was getting used to the injection pain and to a cramping discomfort on the next day. A year into this my nurse told me that it was more difficult to find through same brand of gamma goblin and that the received a different formulation 10% which ment that I should get 4.5CC per injection. I felt the jab but started to experience severe burning as she pushed through plunger, unbearable I started to cry and was in tears when she gave me my second shot. The next days the injection sites were firm and sore . I endured these for another 5 months but decided to leave my job as I could not tolerate this anymore. Now even thinking of my provera injection brings tears to my eyes.

For those claiming they were getting multiple injections daily into the buttocks for 20-30 days and it became increasingly painful, they could have switched sites and given the injections in the thighs. Any medicine given in the buttocks can be given in the thigh.

But some people who had an opportunity to compare these option, i.e. buttocks and thighs, claim that the latter is more painful and also more disturbing in daily activities after an injection. My experience seems to confirm this claim. I'm not a particularly skinny person, I'm rather nearer to slight overweight and I have broad hips. So there is no problem to find a location for a shot. But when pain and soreness from repeated injections became unacceptable anyway, I asked a nurse to switch to thighs. She did it reluctantly warning me that it could possibly hurt more. And it did. Even the first thigh shot was almost as painful as repeated buttock shots. I tried it only twice and quickly returned to buttocks. Because while I still couldn't sit normally, I could at least walk.

I am 35 and underweight as I struggled for years with a malabsorption disease. Nearly every doctor s visit ends with injections. For years I get B12 every two weeks and lately was told that my testosterone was also very low so was started on these oil injections every two weeks leaving me sore for few days. The nightmare is infections for which I usually start with a canula and IV but on few occasions had get twice daily injections for few days and had once three days of vitamin c… I am more lucky now as I get iron by IV As a child and a teen my parents had to learn to give me my injections and my doctor was the one assigned to give me the dreadful painful iron injections that would leave their marks on my butts for years.

Most of the medications. 10 years ago I had to have a port which was very practical till it got infected necessitating hospital admission and IV antibiotic. As a child any minor ailment would mean a series of painful butt injections. Not counting the regular vitamin shots.my parents got trained to give me the injections but with time it is becoming more and more sore and as I learned to self inject it is often difficult to push the needle from the scars and often a new injection is bruise with a lump

I had iron injections some years ago. When I was pregnant, twice. I'm not underweight at all and iron absorption problem was obviously related to the pregnancies. Pills didn't help, so I got the shots every 3 days for about 3 months during both pregnancies. The total amount of shots wasn't overwhelming, but they were insanely painful and I could barely sit during those months. And they have left marks, some of which are still to same extent visible many years afterwards. They have some sort of shape which can be felt with fingers and when firmly pushed they still cause some light pain. But if it happens to me nowadays to get a completely unrelated injection which hits one of these old scars, it gets automatically goddamn painful.

I had those injections when pregnant as well, quite a long time ago. Ca. 60, also every 3 days. I remember my doctor explaining why: "every 3 days, otherwise you would not sit down". Well, I have to admit that it was difficult to sit down anyway. IM ferrum is terribly painful and very rare today. Nowadays IV is much more common. I had also the scars typical for ferrum. They persisted for almost 10 years, disappearing slowly and gradually. For 2 or 3 years my bottom looked really bad. I found it frustrating as I was very young then, but had to say farewell to bikini for a few years.

In the mid 1980s I suffered with a ruptured disc, L5-S1, and when admitted to a hospital where a nurse was ordered to give me morphine shots every 3 hours for the pain I was experiencing. She really jabbed me hard when plunging that needle into my cheek in turn creating a lasting pain throughout my stay until I was transferred to another hospital for surgery. I was not only sore for some time afterward, but had a very tender bottom from all the injections reminding me that I had had numerous needles.

I am also slim with a very small butts. At 16 I was diagnosed with rheumatic fever which left a scared heart valve. I started getting long actingpenicpenicillin injections every 2 to 4 weeks. The 4 CC thick injection has to be given with a long thick needle. It is unbearable and would leave me sore with a hard lump for days unable to site or sleep on that side. The nurse who gives me the injections have often to pull through needle and reject as the thick liquid often blocks the needle or because the thick needle would get blood when she pulls the plunger. Many time when it I beg her to stop she would stop, pull the needle and jab the other side to finish the injection. Many times I ended up with a large dark bruise around through needle hole.. I endures these injections for years. I was recently found to be anemic with low B12 and had to get a second less painful injection every time. The nurse tried through thighs but I felt very uncomfortable. With through years I cannot count how many injections I got but it is not difficult to see the scars on both sides from the repeated jabs with the 18 1.5 inch long needles. I wish I could show this my doctor and talk about it.

I am too "petite" and is still on these horrible long acting penicillin injections for rheumatic fever prevention. I get them every 2-4weeks and like you said they often have to poke me twice as the needles get blocked by the thick fluid or they get blood and many time when I cannot bear the pain they split it with 2CC into each cheek. I also got many times monthly series of b complex injections every other day. I usually get the penicillin on Friday afternoon when through RN comes to our home. I have my routine and I lay on my stomach and hide my face in through cushion so that no one sees my tears and often I stay I bed on my stomach and try to sleep after the shots. I usually avoid getting out or seeing my friends as I do not want them seeing me limping and holding my butts fom pain. As years are passing they injections are getting more painful from through lumps and hard scars.
