There are afew difference, its A, B, Intermediate, Open. Small 1 adjudicator feis run solos and awards(cup comps) in each category. Then at larger feis, these are offered but open section can have 2 types of championships, a preliminary and a championship. Preliminary dancers have not won a 3 adj comp. You can win prelim 3 times before out of it. Sometimes there is a 3rd type of open championship called premiership, for this you have not won a 3 adj comp but you may have won out of prelim as Nd still do premiership and you can compete and win this as many times as you can until a 3adj is won. You also dance she age you are on the day.
