I've done a ground run and the problem is still there, and stays the same irrespective of battery charge state - and also if the regulator output to the battery is disconnected. My mag switches have a totally separate and isolated earth return path to the engine. My concern is that the problem may be caused by coils breaking down. Its interesting flying and having to rely on airspeed and rate of ascent/descent to judge the power setting but I can cope with that. But if coil failure leads to the sparks (and engine)stopping not so good. Does anyone have resistance figures and limits for all the Rorax 582 generator coils (tacho, outputs to the ducati ignition modules, and the output to the regulator)? Many Thanks and I'll keep you posted on what I find. Bob [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
