Hi all.

After a lengthy session sticking the multimeter everywhere it would seem that my spark plug caps (I have the NGK LB05EZ) have much higher resistance than they should have.

I took the cap off the leads, and held the end of the lead adjacent to earth, and got a big fat spark. My engineer reckons the plug caps are progressively failing and should be replaced, and what's more I have been using BR8ES plugs instead of the B8ES non resistor type. My chap said to have resistors in the cap, OR the plugs, but not both.

Anyway, new B8ES non-resistor plugs are on order, and a set of new LB05EZ HT caps. I'll let you know how it goes. The engineer did say he has encountered this problem before and suggests the caps be replaced every 100 hours or sooner, as their electrical resistance increases over time as they deteriorate.
