In reply to: 's message, "In the early days, Robin frequently talked about having enough money to run MAO for another hundred years. What is clearer now is that Robin wants to only use MAO as her cash cow, spending only $100 of her own money" on 20:34:41 09/03/24 Tue

This is the stupidest summary I've ever read. MAO will NEVER be a cash cow. It's not a business model that will do anything but break even, at least for the foreseeable future. This is not at all what she meant when she said MAO would have enough money for 100 years.. She was referring to having 'ol Glenn as the financier/banker and the $100 was to transfer the assets. I've done that before with a company asset transfer. Go take a business class and touch grass. (NT)No name

This is the stupidest reply I have ever heard. No professional leader with a business sense would ever discuss how much money they have to operate the business who isn't truly the owner. If you took a business class, you'd learn that when all your debt was paid, you then broke even. Any company can be profitable but what is done with that profit can be your downfall. Regardless what team you are batting for, the pain of going from Nonprofit to profit for those long haulers in this beautiful brand, is at the consumers expense to fuel the organization. Therefore, we are all paying the salaries and pageant expenses in a debt free organization. (NT)No name

But things have changed drastically as a for profit. Robin didn't pay out any scholarships, so they are no longer a cost to her.
    She receives money from:
ticket sales from all the weeks activities,
    prelims and finals tickets,
    pageant streaming sales,
    program book ad sales,
a cut of state entry fees,
    all the national entry fees,
a cut of the AHA fundraising
    kickbacks from Henri's,
    kickbacks from Rebel,
all the extraneous expenses she asks of the states throughout the year, and
    MA merch profits.
Her costs are staff, setting/ printing the program book, and event site rental and staging.
The states and girls/parents are funding the program entirely and in return they get to compete for Miss America. (NT)
