For trivia buffs and pageant fans, today, September 6, 2024 marks the 100th year anniversary of the 1924 Miss America pageant staged in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday, September 6, 1924.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_America_1924

The fourth annual bathing queen Miss America pageant, had the largest number, 83, entrants of any pageant before and since then.

Miss Philadelphia 1924, Ruth Malcomson won the title, and her niece was Miss Pennsylvania 1956, Lorna Ringler Graham, and Ruth's grand-niece was Miss Delaware 1980, Jodi Meade Graham. Both did not place in the Miss America pageant, however, Lorna was a non-finalist talent winner for a vocal presentation.

Happy 100th year milestone centennial anniversary.

Just to let you know, there were many other Miss America pageant finale coronation shows that were held on September 6 besides just 1924 (1941, 1947, 1952, 1969, 1980, etc.). Any reason why they still do not consider the 1932 pageant (winner Dorothy Hann) a real MAO pageant even if held in Wildwood, NJ?http://www.nj.com/entertainment/2015/09/miss_america_new_jersey_wins_never_wins.html
