Subject: Let's be real. For about 95% of the contestants, the cost to compete was never worth the ROI. That may have played a role for the girls with no pageant experience, but that certainly wasn't the case for the "pageant girls" especially when the same girls will pay thousands to compete at State USA with zero dollars unless they're in top 5. The reason participation is down is because of lack of promotion and absolute chaos

Exactly....this whole scholarship business was just a good PR line. The pageants success really depended upon having a lot of Suzanne Sugarbaker clones who just liked to get dressed up, compete, and collect crowns. And there is certainly no harm in that. It's just that there are very few Suzanne Sugarbaker's left. The world has become a different place. (NT)No name
