Subject: Clearly you have no understanding to the founding of the teen program. It was a separate entity founded by Donna Bozarth and Bob Arnham. It was built and funded by Donna until Shantel destroyed that under her leadership/ Only when Miss America took over the teen did the responsibility to fund it fall on them. University of Alabama offers every teen state titleholder a full ride if they qualify academically. Worth the price of competition for them just for that opportunity. The teens are the future of MA coming up to compete in the Miss program. They deserve opportunities as well.

In reply to: 's message, "Scrap the Teen program! Since the founding of the teen program, it has drained the funding for the Miss program greatly, especially in the area of scholarships. The cost of higher education has increased, yet the scholarships in the Miss division have decreased. At the beginning of the millennium, the first, second, third and fourth runners-up received $40K, $30K, $25K and 20K, respectively. Runners up at the 2019 program received $25K, $20K, $15K and 10K, respectively. That is a significant drop, especially for the first-runner up who receives $15K less. Considering how much resources go into preparing to compete at the national level – it is just not worth it!" on 23:37:08 12/13/24 Fri

If anything, I'd prefer Miss Teen instead. The contracts aren't practically servitude, the girls can have a life in high school and not have to drop out, the money is good, etc. I never competed in teen but I would in a heartbeat now, and get my free degree from UAB. (NT)Miss Am is just too much hassle. I'd take the $50K that night and run away from the org post haste..
