Hey Ernest, did you make the changeover to your car? The only thing that valve does is shut down the connection for the compressor when the presure/system is low so if the clutch is kicking in thats not your problem. The newer stlye (134) systems do run with less presure and they cool a little less than the R12 did but one thing you can check is how the compressor is engaging, heres my suggestion; with the car idling have a helper switch the system one and see how the clutch kicks in, I know on one of my cars (1987is) the compressor turns (at first) jerky and its like the clutch isn't totally engaged for a while at the start of engagment, after awhile (on the road) the compressor seems to pick up and work right....

I'll do a little checking today on a few things that might help yours

you did change the compressor and clutch, right?
