Subject: It would be incredibly hard to maintain that business model. Corporate (Allison), needs $. For someone with connections, gathering sponsors & donations is easy; now comes the part where these benefactors will expect a return on their investment from our titleholder. MVA is not like MAO Foundation, or even MAO itself. MVA is set up as a for profit corporation - no tax deductions at all. "Donors" may not be so generous next year.

In reply to: 's message, "I don't believe there is any local fee paid to MVA. In my state, the state org simply asks the local to pay the entry fees for its contestants. It probably varies state to state." on Fri May 20, 2022 08:45:20

[> [> [> Subject: I don't know why this "for profit" rumour keeps circulating. MVA is a non profit and donations made to state scholarship funds are tax exempt when made through the MVA Foundation, which is a 501 (c) (3). It was all explained to state boards during the EVERYDAY meetings they had with national board members during pageant week. MVA is the most transparent pageant org I've ever been a part of.
