Subject: Suggestions as MVA looks to future

Last year everyone was happy that there was an alternate to MAO and wasn’t toxic. This year I believe growing pains are here. Just a few thoughts.
1. Be clear to the states what a national titleholder needs to have. We all understand that this isn’t a talent competition but come on, this was a super weak top 5 talent and it’s hard to explain to potential contestants what happened, except to say it must have come out of interview. That excuse only goes so far.
2. Provide states with marketing material. Some states are blessed to have volunteers in this area but many are not. If there was social media ads, reels, etc that all states could use to help present a brand this would be very helpful.
3. Publish the scholarships given in the program book! No one knew what was being given until the winners were being called out. Provide scholarships to the prelim winners too.
4. We all get that MVA wanted to have all 50 states represented. However, if the states that work hard to put in a pageant have to abide by residency requirements, so should everyone else. I would rather leave a state out than have someone who is a non resident of that state in the stage. That takes away opportunities for those who met residency requirements to compete.
5. Judges, yes we all know it’s hard to find judges. However, the panels that are being put together have no pageant experience, minus one or two. Not sue their instructions but need more experienced people.
6. Production, the stage is beautiful! But it’s time to become a national pageant. The Princesses are great and I’m sure they are a money maker, time for them to move to the Teen pageant. Their being in the Miss pageant, makes it feel like a state MAO pageant and not a national competition. To be at a USA/MAO level it’s time to get professional MC’s. Many times there is so much banter that a girl is left standing on stage waiting way too long to perform. This isn’t fair to the girl. And introducing Christine and a full walk across state like a reigning titleholder is a bit much. Maybe you keep MCs like they are for prelims but stick to a script and bring in a professional for Sat night. As things grow, it’s time to take it to the next level. That goes for the national Princess coming in stage each night with MVA as well. It is the titleholders time and it takes away from her and her moment. Then at the crowning, it should be the winner and outgoing titleholder only. You don’t see four hundred people crowing Miss USA or MAO. The spotlight should be on the new queen.
So this is a lot but #1 is the most important. There were a lot of spectators, contestants, and potential contestants that are now more confused than ever

Why are you obsessed with her? Christine is half the reason this organization exists??? We wouldn’t have this pageant if not for her. And so what if they introduce titleholders? Get onboard or get out!

[> Subject: I love the new winner but agree with this! Competition was very weak and it’s crucial to crown a show stopper to catapult this system. The new teen is great and they will make a great team. Only a couple of girls have gone through this system that has gained national level attention. They need to hire professional producers and production for a national. I have faith that it will get there in time!

[> Subject: I don't think Allison should host the show or feature her own family. She seems too involved and in control. How would you have reacted if Trump had emceed and showcased his family in the Miss USA pageant back when? It seems like the Allison show, rather than a fair, balanced national pageant. Nothing against Allison--I think she is wonderful--but appearances count.

[> Subject: Gotta figure Princesses bring in over $20K. I’m ok with them staying part of the miss program because they support the program in a HUGE way. They can have their 3min on stage IMO.

[> Subject: Well, it was much more fun and entertaining to watch than a ordinary MAO pageant. It’s Allison’s creation so she can do what she wants. Her and her husband are great. As long as it is fair, and it appears that it is, I have no problems with any of it.
