Alabama was strong; unfortunately in prelims she put a hand down on an ariel in her dance and I wonder if the judges took off points for that. I had MS in my top 16 but thought her gown was just ok. Both of these and some others mentioned about I think are the classic case of "different night/different judges/different outcome." There was a lot of good competition at this pageant and there were a lot of winners up there. I really do wonder how many stateholders as Miss' there were -- even future national titleholders! -- Miss Volunteer America Pageant
