It doesn't take anything away from the quality of the women who are competing. OK, NY, NJ for example all have strong talents, strong interviews, strong SS/gown - track records to back them up. The fact that some of these states are sending appointed delegates doesn't indicate there wasn't interest - it just means they couldn't find directors - and when you have MAO actively campaigning against the organization, it makes it all the more difficult. There is room for all systems. We need to stop actively trying to eliminate opportunities for these women because of our own egos and celebrate growth of opportunity. -- Miss Volunteer America Pageant
