It is very true that vintage enema/douche equipment is getting pretty rare and certainly a hot collector's item for those who experienced enemas and douching during what is sometimes referred to as the "golden age".

The household that I grew up in the 50's was pretty typical. My mom and grandma had a plethora of various rubber implements and attachments that could deliver liquids into just about any orifice.

I still have several of those items and some are in primo condition considering their age. I have bought and sold many others.

Like Carol A' s aunt, my aunt discussed enemas for my cousins quite often when they were over visiting. A couple of times, my aunt asked for assistance to give my younger cousin an enema when we were at grandma's. We boys teased her and were admonished that we would get one right along with her due to the teasing. My cousin still remembers the day.

His mom had this Wearever Folding/Travel syringe that could curl one's toes when filled. I still have the gray nozzles that came with it. The bag and hose were brittle and it was discarded. The nozzles went to my mom's collection and I now have them after her passing. I also have a US Rubber Fountain Syringe and the matching hot water bottle. I still use my Roxbury and Victoria fountain syringes as needed.

I recently obtained quite a few vintage bulbs, nozzles, and attachments from a wonderful woman on Zity Biz. She wanted them to be preserved for their historical value. A few of the black nozzles are new in original boxes.
