Author: Divar - Alkyri
Subject: harder than it sounds
In reply to: Uamaro 's message, "New boy" on 19:47:41 04/02/05 Sat

Divar had busied himself by standing at the shoreline, folding his pantlegs up to his knees so that the weight of them would not drag the cloth to his ankles when he swam; the male, though comfortable in his skin and having previously intended to go in just that, opted out of that action upon S'kar's appearance. He listens intently to S'kar's introduction, eyes flicking from person to dragon to firelizards in turn. Alkyri alighted briefly on his shoulder, nipping his ear and flashing a picture of any green firelizard before disappearing into between. Such was custom for Alkyri, quite the lusty, small framed blue that went after just about anything that rose; however not quite as much after a run in with an irritated brown during a flight. Divar shrugged the image off and strode forward, naturally tan feet quickly engulfed in the surf as it brought sand dancing between his toes. He shuddered slightly at the chill and the strange, unfamiliar feeling. It had been awhile since he had been near any sort of large body of water, and he grinned, plunging headlong into the surf and resurfacing quickly a few yards farther out, S'kar's question reached his ears and he grinned broadly.

"Decent to say the least. I used to swim and sail more than any other thing!"

With that Divar turned his attention back to the water, plunging under the surface quickly and milling about, reveling in the chill against his skin, billowing his shirt and loose pants out around him. His hair already naturally stood on end, and this was no different when he resurfaced, bright brown eyes dancing with the sunlight reflecting off the water. A shape loomed under him in the water and he kicked backwards to get out of the way, recognizing Uamaro as at least human before he surfaced. Divar had not seen the first shoreline greeting, or hand waving, but he grinned, treading water as the new boy introduced himself.

"Name's Divar. Are you a candidate as well?"

Divar did not seek to introduce S'kar, believing that most people did not like to be spoken for, except maybe in the case of weyrmates, and even then not truly. So he would let S'kar introduce himself. Divar let the water buoy him upwards as he stretched out on his back, floating for afew moments before the weight of he and his clothing started to make him sink. With another of his trademark, dare devil like grins he continued to tread water a moment, content to make conversation in the cool water for the moment.
