In reply to: Divar - Alkyri 's message, "harder than it sounds" on 23:00:44 04/06/05 Wed

The decently built male let the tide carry him back and forth as he floated on his back in the water, remaining in this relaxed state for quite awhile. He dipped under the surface momentarily, powering back towards the shoreline as he remembered the firelizard egg perched inside his sandal. The beach rose up to meet him, and he resurfaced quite near the shore, picking his feet up out of the water, already seeing the visible shaking of the egg. He landed with a harsh thud in the sand, dripped wet and searching through his bag. There: the leftover meatrolls were still there, pilfered by Alkyri and Divar alike as they had rushed to take some time at the Beach before anything big began to occur. One dark blue claw poked out of the shell, and hairline fractures began to run down the sides, lacing all over the egg as Divar listened to the persistent tapping inside.

In one swift motion, the egg shattered into a million small pieces, leaving a large, bright blue firelizard sitting there quite complacently, red eyes watching this human with utmost curiousity. He was much larger than Alkyri, and a deeper, brighter color: a brilliant, electric looking blue. Divar grinned just as happily as he had when he'd gotten his first firelizard, not at all fazed at retrieving the same color. The slightly more dismal thought that maybe this would be a trend popped into his brain, but he pushed that aside quickly as the new flit gobbled up his first meal, contentin itself to make his way up Divar's shoulder and curl himself around Divar's neck. His tail was significantly longer than Alkyri's, and he curled it around his collar before Divar had thought to put his shirt on, and was soundly sleeping. He sighed and sat in the sand again, the hot sun already drying him out significantly.

"So a name for you then...how about Kurunzi....that sounds good...nah..to long. We'll make it Kuru. You'll be Ku-"

Divar stopped mid sentence, having been staring at a group looking over another clutch a ways down the beach. Not lost on his ears, a loud bugle came on the wind and his hair stood on end as if from a chill. Divar tried to pass it off as any dragon, but his heart suddenly jumped up to his throat as one girl ran off, scrambling for purchase in the sand. It was as everyone hoped to think. The Queen had clutched. Divar was up after her, grabbing his shirt and sandals without a thought to putting them on. He slung his bag on his shoulder and started back up the Beach at a run. It was time!
