Davan was jittery. Eight eggs out of the twenty-three had hatched, and none for him yet. One of the greens had mauled two girls.

One of his eggs had hatched in the excitement. He gave it bits and pieces of dried meat, knowing that he really should have fresh. It was the smaller of the two eggs. It hatched into a green, a very small green.
"Mrush, that's what I'll call you."
Mrush meant tender, if he remembered. Mrushruth was the full term, something his nurse had called the tree she grew in a small pot. Tender Will. Will? No, he remembered, Willow. Tender Willow. It suited her dark willow color.

((Really bad, but I'm just grabbing this two minutes or so on my mom's computer before I have to go back to school. I love doctor visits! they get me out of school. serious face, and nods.))
