Rinali! Elitarith’s rider is injured!
Rinali’s head shot up, and she ran over to where D’niel stood, probably in shock over his burned hand. She helped him down from his dragon, and gently took his hand in hers. Lilith? Calm Elitarith. The last thing we need is him panicking...
Elitarith, it will be fine. My rider is skilled at healing. Calm down, my friend, and reassure your rider.
“Nasty burn, lad.” Rinali remarked, and she led him over to the small pool at one side of the Perches, where icy-cold water fell in a small waterfall for dragon to drink. “Grit your teeth, D’niel. This will hurt.” She placed his hand under the fall of cold water, and mind-yelled to Rann to get some blankets. The fire-lizard appeared holding a blanket, and Rinali placed it around the boy’s shoulders. He was going to get cold. The ideal thing would be to raise his legs for shock, but she could not do that right now. Now what was it hat he told me? Never put creams on a burn, run it under cold water, don’t put anything n the skin if it’s this bad – the skin will just peel off when we try to take the thing off…
“Shh D’niel. Now, tell your dragon to calm down, and keep your hand under the water. Skin is difficult stuff. I don’t think you’ll ever have the proper feeling in this hand again, and I refuse to let you use this hand until it’s absolutely fine. That means no flaming, and nothing where you need to hold on to anything.”

((Woo-hoo! Go me! I remembered my first-aid course! I'm fully qualified now, I'll have you know.))
