Is D’tir back? D’niel asked, confused.
~No, but gold Lilith’s rider will teach us. She is sending a green to demonstrate, so come on!~
Being one of the bronzes, Elitarith really could’ve pushed D’niel the whole way there, but his rider wished to learn this as much as the bronze!
There was a hushed silence when they walked up as their clutchmates all turned their attention towards the queenrider. D’niel listened intently, and the two watched Mesatith with determination to do the same!
Indomitably, D’niel strode up to the firestones and took an armful. Coming back to his beloved bronze, he leaned against the rusty gold-like hide and broke the stones into the right size.
Elitarith? Where’s Danny?
~She and Eiriannath are over there.~ The bronze flicked his head over to the right. ~Eiriannath tells me she’s happy to flame.~
D’niel looked over towards his twin sister. She seemed so happy over there with her green… about as happy as he and Elitarith had grown…
Elitarith crooned, bringing D’niel to the present. The bronze nuzzled D’niel affectionately in the chest, trying to bring the attention back to himself and remind him that how could anyone be as close as they were?
D’niel smiled. All right, love! C’mon, here are the stones. He held his arms out, and allowed Elitarith to take them and start the chewing.
How does it feel? You thinking of your second stomach?
~It feels like chewing a rock, dimglow. Yes, I am.~
D’niel swatted the bronze’s shoulder affectionately. Good.
~I feel the same… wait…~ Elitarith looked surprised. ~I feel a burning sensation…~
Then look away from me! D’niel said, eyes growing wide. He quickly shoved Elitarith’s head away to look upward; just a burst of flame came from the bronze’s mouth. Wincing, D’niel brought his hand down.
Elitarith’s eyes immediately flushed red in worry. ~D’NIEL! Are you ok? I’m so sorry! Does it hurt badly? We should tell Lilith and Rinali! Oh, D’niel!~
Sh, I’ll be fine. D’niel said, gritting his teeth against the pain. Looking down, he groaned. His hand looked blackish, and was starting to bleed. We should’ve used less firestone.
~C’mon! I’ll take you to Rinali.~ Elitarith said, stretching out his leg. Steadily, D’niel climbed on the bronze’s back, and they made their way towards Rinali, first stopping by the ash pile to relieve Elitarith of the scratchy nuisance.
~Lilith!~ Elitarith called out. ~Tell Rinali that D’niel and I are coming; D’niel got a burn.~
