Date Posted: 01:47:55 12/06/15 Sun In reply to: Thomas 's message, "Why were you put back into nappies?" on 14:44:44 08/14/15 Fri To attempt to answer your original question, Thomas, I think some mothers love their babies so much that they don't want that time to end. Keeping their child in nappies and the other accoutrements of babyhood helps them feel like they've still got their little baby, and that they're still very much needed. Other mothers, myself included, find that using nappies and baby knickers as a punishment, or a means of controlling unruly behaviour can be highly effective. It sounds from what you describe that with your mother it was perhaps a bit of both - she seems to have put you back into nappies for what she considered practical reasons, like a long journey, but also as a punishment. Did you use your nappy when she made you wear one on a long journey? I presume she must have put you into waterproof pants of some sort too? If you did wet then this may have reinforced her belief that you needed to wear a nappy. And when she used nappies as a punishment was it just nappies? Or did she put you into frilly baby knickers and other baby type clothes too? [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
