All that bulk of a nappy between my legs, and the tight baby knickers biting into my thighs and waist. And the frills! OMG the frills - all over the back of my baby knickers, and round the sleeves, neck and hem of my baby dress. The humiliation of being changed for bed, often as early as 6 or seven o'clock, being stripped to my nappy and plastic panties, and put into a nightie or sleep suit was unbearable. But the worst bit was always being made to drink a bottle of milk, knowing it contained not only something to make me sleep, but also a diuretic. So as I drifted off to sleep, my legs spread by the bulk of my nappy, my final thoughts were the knowledge that I'd wake up in a wet nappy.
