It is most admirable that you spend time talking with any child of yours after their cornertime. You can make clear that the spanking clears their slate and they no longer owe a debt. However, make it clear that while their punishment is over, they still should not have incurred or owed that debt in the first place and that they still need to make restitution, perhaps by writing an apology or repairing any damage they caused. Their feeling the spanking and perhaps continuing to feel it is not all there is to paying their full debt.
