It is hard to imagine a teenager who would not hate getting a spanking from their parent. Even if I had been very bad, and deserved to be punished, I could not justify such pain and humiliation. However, corporal punishment was a bad part of life I had to accept. I forgave my parents, but I do not think spanking children is a good thing.
