 A group of my baby brothers friends were discussing life when one girl admitted she never remembered being smacked. The others tormented her for being a spoiled brat but she was the only one in a mixed group of about a dozen who didn't openly admit it still happened. I'd never have admitted it happened to me at that age. I was bad enough they'd assume it used to happen to me. Thankfully no one discussed how they were smacked.
They were all 15 or 16 and this would have been about 2006. We live outside of London.
A bit later the NSPCC published a report and were outraged that nearly half of teenagers have been hit as a punishment in the last year. My brother laughed. If it was based on my friends it would be 100%.
