She thought she was being helpful, and probably had a bit of "spanko" in her as well. Can't fault her for either. I get along great with her (and Mom) -- that was ten years ago. Besides I now believe that period of discipline did me some good.

I went through a period of hard rebellion in my early teens when I had not been spanked for a few years. I was hanging around with the wrong kind of kids. A few parental spankings steered me through that time without any long term harm. Though I hated and resented it at the time, years later, I had a better appreciation for the discipline imposed on me because my parents truly cared. I'm not sure how I would have handled it if anyone was enjoying my punishments, but it's good to see that didn't diminish the benefit of your spankings for you.
