No, I was never spanked as a child, no discipline or rules at all, really. My single Mom is/was kind of a hippy. She has no idea I am under discipline
I got married in September. My husband is 12 years older. I'm 21. He got me going to church. In pre-marital counseling, the pastor taught me about "marital discipline." It was quite a shock, and has been a big adjustment, but it has really helped me in a lot of ways.
Most important, az the pastor and my husband told me, it's helping me become a good wife. Getting spanked hurts. A LOT! But it helps me/us. A LOT!
