It sounds like you have someone who cares about you very much and will guide you in the right direction. She sounds very dominating however and I hope you can handle that and following the rules and decorum. I don't mean this as a put down, but I think you need that and I think you may be very immature and that will help you grow up and focus on your direction.

I hope you know that you must obey the rules or you're going to be punished. I hope you're prepared for that and I don't think you are, but it will come if you stick to it. Real 'whoopins' aren't a game. You submit to an authority and they make the rules. They hurt and they don't end until your disciplinarian decides and you may be reminded of it for days. There's also the psychological aspect of it. I hope you're prepared for it. It will be quite a shock if you're not.

You can benefit from some gentle nudges in directions you have already freely chosen to go in. What will be hard will be to be pushed in directions you aren't interested in going. For example, Shelby may feel justified in pushing you very hard not to smoke at all. You like smoking to relax.

I would love it if you were able to find other ways to relax. But you made it very clear to me: Don't harangue you about it. It may turn into a hard limit that Shelby will have to respect. Or you both will discover that she is allergic to even the modest smoking that you do.

Lots of learning ahead as you both discover each other.
