 When I give one or more of my kids a spanking, they remember it for a day or more whenever they sit down. I still spank my college daughter when she is home from college and needs one. My 4 high school teens are still going over my knee for a sound hand and paddle spanking when needed. I will say spanking has decreased a lot, but it is still on the table for all of them and they know it. last one spanked was my 17 yr. old son who came home inebriated. thankfully he was not driving, or his spanking would have been a lot worse.
