Well, who decides whether a spanking is truly deserved? Yes, I deserved some of the spankings I got but overall I think it was only a fraction of those that really was deserved. When I participated in bullying another girl I certainly deserved the spanking (but perhaps not with a birch rod, but I agree that even an ordinary spanking with hand/hairbrush across the knees in front of the victim could have been deserved). But spankings I got for forgetting tidy my room or by mistake dropping a glass on the floor certainly were no reason for a humiliating bare bottom spanking.
We all have different experiences and different outcomes with how we turned out but I have read a lot and also heard from women who feel the spankings, especially spankings given in the teens, had a very negative impact on their mental well-being. Having said that there are obviously women who were not that affected. I am not pro-spank, especially not for teenage girls. Still I do love to hear all the stories from those who got it in their teens.
