Scrubbing my mouth out with a soapy toothbrush was my parents' method. Over the laundry tub in case I barfed.
My advice is to rinse with milk after, water makes more suds, the fats in the milk cut the soap.

I to wash my kids mouth out with soap but I use a washcloth and lather it real, good then washed their mouth out. I only do it for lying to me.
