Spankings with the small paddle were always narrowly and precisely targeted. The spanks were on the centers of the cheeks, lower down just above the thighs. It was never explained why those spots were chosen, but I guess it was because it was safest to punish that way with hard wood where it is most padded, but maybe also intentionally to make it unbearable when the same spots were spanked repeatedly without pause, and so those two spots would be no fun to sit on for awhile. When my mother hit my bottom with the wooden spoon, she always hit the same spot six, seven or eight times. My skin and muscles became more and more sensitive with every stroke, the pain became more and more unbearable until she finally changed the spot. Then it started all over again on another part of my buttocks. When my father used the cane, the welts lay nicely parallel from the coccyx to a hand's width on the thighs without overlapping.
