Mom favored the brush after she used her hand. So using it on her for her birthday gave me some sense of justice. She also used a paddle for more severe spankings. Dad would spank her in private sometimes. Which we would hear his belt laying into her bottom. And of course, her cries. Other times, she would be spanked in the family room like us kids were. Those were more often group punishments. When a couple of us earned a spanking on the same day. I would say mom and dad were both equal spankers. I've been interested in the dynamic of families where mothers are spanked and kids are aware of it since I started to pen-pal with a spanked mother a number of years ago. When she was to be punished it was usually after the evening meal and while she and the kids were doing up the dishes it fell to her to tell them, "after we're finished mommy has to go and see daddy for a spanking so I want you not answer the door, or the phone." It was understood sometimes mommy had to be spanked just as they were. I find it intriguing how normal for them what seemed to me quite bizarre was. Oh yes, especially if they picked a sibling as the spanker. They didn’t spank as hard so it was not as painful. Did the Birthday Girl ever select a parent to be the spanker or always a sibling? It did happen that the birthday girl picked a parent. Usually, when the birthday girl thought a sibling was angry with them. Were there ever any extended family or friends that witnessed it? No extended family witnessed. Nor did any friends. Does this practice still happen in your family? Or how old were you when it stopped? My hubby and I did not continue this tradition. I have to say that your posts on this forum are the best ones! On one of your posts, you mentioned Maintenance Spankings. If you get a slow day, could you please make a detailed post about them? As a kid the only Birthday Spankings that I ever saw were the fake ones that my First grade teacher gave to the students on their birthday. I gave my wife a couple many years ago and she got extremely wet from it, but refused them in later years. I did not force the issue. I do grab or pat her ass on a daily basis and she likes that or I am sure that I would have been told otherwise. It took many years to get up the nerve to ask her for a Birthday Spanking, but she obliged and continues to do it every year as well as a few times during the year. Always followed by great sex. Maintenance spankings were once a week. Usually on a weekend. Dad would announce who needed one at dinner, how they were to be dressed, what they would be spanked with. He usually spanked all of us. Mom, older sister, me, younger sister. It was go to room, strip naked, come to family room. He would sit on the couch and take one of us over his knee and us his hand. Our bottoms would be pink or a light red by the end. No tears or anything. Sometimes if one of us felt like we needed more we would ask for a few swats with the brush or paddle.
