I call them superb and they are, but they are very disturbing really because in both scenes the child is punished in front of an opposite sex witness or witnesses which naturally leads to them experiencing massive humiliation and embarrassment. It wasn't a scene from the movie but a curtain call at the end. After the Rhoda (Patti McCormick) was introduced, she was told to sit on a sofa and wait until the final introduction. The last was the mother. She then scurried to the couch, Sat sat down and said, "and as for you..." and yanked Patti over her knee and delivered several good swats to her clothed bottom as Patti yelled and the scene fades out. Nancy Green blessedly does what should have been done in the film. Two tv comedies with pathetic parents were Leave It to Beaver, and the Patty Duke Show. The shows were about kids who got into trouble in every episode, and would naturally need a spanking. Patty Duke believed in spanking, and an early episode with her as a babysitter shows her grabbing a boy and trying to give him a spanking. I often think about spanking Patty Duke !
