I think it's far worse than a belt. The strap has two tails and that leathsr just sears into your bare buttocks. You feel like you are sitting on a hot stove. Of course I get it on the bare. Dad also keeps the strap oiled I guess to keep the leather preserved and it also just makes the burn that much worse. I read on one of these forums where a girl once wrote. The other end has no handle. These strops are double layered. One layer is the leather, the second is a cloth like material. The razor strop can be used but the spankee should be laying face down on a bed or table. With enough practice one can bring the razor strop square across both sides of the spankees buttocks. When it lands just right it sounds like a firecracker. Brenda is absolutely correct in that she will not soon forget her experience of being disciplined with the strop. It lands with a CRACK! rather than a snap and burns rather than stings. Because of its weight, it penetrates more deeply into the tissues. I briefly had access to one and I realized that spanking with it was kind of an awkward use. The one I had control of and all the others I have seen at barber shops are designed to be stretched tight against the anchor and then provide a finishing final touch on the edge of a straight razor. The anchor point is critical for the intended razor sharpening use since rubbing the razor over the leather requires that the leather be stretched quite taught. If there is slack in the strop, it is not going to sharpen the steel fibers in the edge of the straight razor blade, What this means is that when the strop is removed for use in spanking a bottom, it is a new use for it. Getting it to deliver spanks is a bit awkward. Neither natural end works well. The anchor end is a metal clamp that hooks onto a ring on the barber's chair. The other end is usually a soft leather pseudo handle. Often these are removed if the strop will never again be used for sharpening. So, a dual use strop will have to keep its handles. The plot can thicken further if there are two layers but I will ignore that complexity. So, the would be spanking use requires an awkward grip and then a swing. But swinging a strop is complicated also since it is very flexible leather. This forces choking up. So, I suspect the main value of the razor strop for spanking was the fear and reputation of it. Some people say that spanking with a strop is more difficult than spanking with a belt. Other people say just the opposite. Although I have given plenty of spankings, I have shied away from 'whippy' implements such as belts, razor strops, etc. I stick with hairbrushes, paddles, and the like because they are easy to aim. Since a strop is heavy, the spanker needs to put some oomph into swinging it. That results in a heavy strip of leather impacting the culprit's bare bottom with considerable force. Everyone who has felt one given for real rather than as just a demo would definitely agree that a strop lick "burns like hell." It is interesting that some strop spankers think a strop is easier to spank with than a belt. Since electric shaving razors are so efficient and affordable, I doubt that straight razors will ever return. So I predict that razor strops will remain rare and that their awesome reputation will continue to grove. Brenda uses the hairbrush so perhaps she will share just how it compares to the strops she has felt.
