Her doctor said that smoking does affect cholesterol, blood pressure and heart rate because it constricts the arteries. That is why her heart rate has increased over 20 beats per minute. When she smokes, her heart beat is around 150 beats per minute.

We hope none of our kids start smoking. They hate it, but, then again, Amy hated it too.

There is no way Amy will refrain from smoking in the car. In fact, she may chain smoke, especially if her mom complains too much. It will be interesting.

I asked Amy if she still feels a buzz when smoking. She said a little but mostly relaxation. Amy said she knew she was in trouble when she went from wanting a cigarette to NEEDING a cigarette. And she needs a cigarette a lot these days.
