I am going to disagree. Many 14 year old boys want their mothers to be present for their physical exams, even knowing that the exam will include inspecting their genitals. When I was a kid this was pretty standard but it still is today. Not too long ago I was sitting in my doctors office and next to me was a boy I would say around 15 years old, and he was holding the state required medical form for participation in school sports. That form includes lines for the examination of penis, testicles, hernia, and visual inspection of the rectum, so this boy knew what he was in for. When the nurse came out and called his name he got up and started walking toward the door that led to the exam rooms. His mother stayed seated but called out, "do you want me to come with you?" The boy stopped, turned to his mother, and said, "sure, if you want to". Many boys don't mind their mothers seeing them nude during medical examinations.
